What is Creative Truth

It is often said that the first casualty of war is truth. Now that the war is over and the smoke is clearing on the battlefields in Sri Lanka, truth remains buried among the thousands of innocent Tamils that were slaughtered by the Sri Lankan military. Despite having the world’s attention at the final stages of the war, there were no witnesses; or none that managed to survive. As the gears of war turned inside the propaganda machine, the truth was either hidden or distorted. The victims became terrorists and real terrorists became heroes.

And in the end, war is the ONLY thing that is over. Everything else in Sri Lanka remains: racism, inequality and oppression.

CreativeTruth.org is a virtual art gallery that seeks to showcase the truth behind the Sri Lankan government’s one sided war, by using the medium of art. Art is expressive, and with it, sometimes we can say a lot more about something than we can with news articles and statistics. This website is open for all who have something to say about the Eelam struggle and want to express it creatively. So, whether it’s a drawing, painting, or even poetry, share with us. Collectively, we can raise awareness of the plight of the Tamils and our struggle for freedom.

Hypocrisy at its purest - Only in Sri Lanka do monks of a peaceful religion protest FOR war and AGAINST peace! These pro-war monks are just one of the forces that kept the gears of war turning in Sri Lanka for decades. Buddha will be proud. (http://www.antiwar.com/ips/perera.php?articleid=9560)

Not only did China supply a lot of weapons for Sri Lanka in it's final offensive, they are also currently supplying the Sri Lankan government with the guts to stand up to the pressure of the international community.

Origin of the armed struggle –After decades of peaceful protests and appeals to the Sri Lankan government against discrimination and inequality of the Tamil people, a determined group of youth resorted to taking up arms in order to liberate the Tamils from the oppression of the Sri Lankan government.

Made in India – India is just one of the countries that is lending a hand in Sri Lanka’s genocide against the Tamils by providing military assistance.

Moment of Truth – A freeze-frame from an interview with Sri Lankan Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa, aired on SBS Dateline. 20 minutes into the program, the Defence Minister responded furiously to a question posed to him by the interviewer, about the suppression of media and journalists by the government. The raw and pure rage in his reaction to a mere mention of an arrested Tamil journalist is a moment of truth that reveals the true side of the Sri Lankan government doing everything it can to suppress the truth about the war. Global Coliseum – What is even scarier than the genocide that is taking place in Sri Lanka , is the incapability of world organizations and influential people of power to do something to stop it!

UN Funded “Concentration Camps” - On March 2009, UN acknowledged that it was funding detention camps for displaced civilians of Vanni. Although, their good intention for the people is realized, their intelligence and competence is called into question, considering the already surfaced reports and eye witness accounts of the Sri Lankan government built “welfare camps” violating many human right laws. Secret Identity - Mr. Fonseka likes taking his dog out for walks in the neighborhood, enjoys a cold Budweiser on a hot summer afternoon, and likes violating human rights of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Along with U.S. citizen Gotabaya Rajapaksa, U.S. Green card holder Sarath Fonseka is being indicted under the Genocide Accountability Act of 2007, charged with war crime and torture charges against Tamils in Sri Lanka.
